Terms of Service

1. Introduction & acceptance

Welcome to MahlerLab ("MahlerLab", "we", "us", or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Timeline Visualizer, a browser-based tool that turns exported Google Maps Timeline.json files into animated travel recap MP4 videos, available at https://www.timelinevisualizer.app (the "Service").

By using the Service or completing a checkout for an MP4 download, you confirm that you: (a) are at least 18 years of age; (b) have read, understood, and agree to these Terms; (c) agree to our Privacy Policy at https://www.timelinevisualizer.app/privacy.html; and (d) are authorized to enter this agreement on your own behalf or on behalf of any organization you represent. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Service description

Timeline Visualizer runs in your web browser. You select a Timeline.json file locally; the app renders a map animation and can encode an H.264 MP4 on your device. Creating and previewing a video is free. Downloading and sharing the finished MP4 requires a one-time purchase (currently $2.59 USD plus applicable tax at checkout, as shown before payment).

The Service is a digital, intangible product. After confirmed payment, download and share access for that export is unlocked immediately in your browser session. Because delivery is instant and digital, refunds are limited as described in Section 7.

3. Eligibility & use

No account is required. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to use the Timeline data you load and the videos you create. Do not use the Service for unlawful purposes or to infringe others’ rights.

4. One-time MP4 download purchase

Each paid checkout unlocks download and share for one completed MP4 export in the current browser session (typically up to 72 hours). Pricing is displayed on the site and at checkout before you pay. We may change the price for future purchases; the price locked at checkout applies to that transaction.

5. Billing & payment

Payments are processed by Waffo Pancake, our Merchant of Record and PCI-DSS payment processor. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers. By completing checkout, you authorize a one-time charge for the amount shown (including tax where applicable). Your card statement may show Waffo Pancake or a related descriptor — contact us if you do not recognize a charge before disputing with your bank.

6. Purchase validity

Download unlock is tied to your browser session and the specific export you created. Reloading the page after payment may require verifying your checkout again. Unlocked access does not transfer to other devices or browsers.

7. Refund policy

Because the MP4 is generated and delivered digitally in your browser, fees are generally non-refundable once download or share has been unlocked, except where required by law or as stated below.

• Duplicate charge: full refund for a confirmed billing error.
• Failed delivery: if payment succeeded but unlock never worked and we cannot fix it within 5 business days, contact us for a refund or credit.
• Statutory rights: if applicable law grants withdrawal or refund rights (e.g., EU/UK consumer rules), those rights are preserved.

To request a refund, email xevpass@gmail.com with your checkout email, transaction or order reference, and reason. We respond within 2 business days and process eligible refunds within 5–10 business days.

8. Billing disputes

If you believe a charge is incorrect, contact xevpass@gmail.com before opening a bank dispute. We aim to respond within 2 business days and resolve confirmed billing errors within 5 business days.

9. Intellectual property

You retain ownership of your Timeline data and the MP4 videos you generate. MahlerLab owns the Service, software, branding, and site content. Map tiles and attribution remain subject to third-party licenses (OpenStreetMap, CARTO).

10. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Violate any law or third-party rights.
• Upload or process data you are not authorized to use.
• Attempt to bypass payment, security, or usage limits.
• Reverse engineer, scrape, or resell access to the Service without written permission.

11. Data, privacy & security

Your use of the Service is governed by our Privacy Policy at https://www.timelinevisualizer.app/privacy.html. Payment card data is processed exclusively by Waffo Pancake and is not stored on our servers. Timeline.json contents and generated videos are processed locally in your browser and are not uploaded to our application servers.

12. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MAHLERLAB IS NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE MP4 DOWNLOAD IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.

13. Term & termination

We may suspend or restrict access if you materially breach these Terms or if required by law. You may stop using the Service at any time.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to MahlerLab as operator of the Service, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Contact us first to resolve disputes informally.

15. General provisions

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date at least 14 days before they take effect where practicable. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance. If any provision is unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect.
