MahlerLab ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use Timeline Visualizer at https://www.timelinevisualizer.app (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this policy.

1. Data controller

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information you provide: If you contact support or complete checkout, we may receive your email address, message content, transaction amount, payment status, and order reference. We do not store full payment card numbers — card data is handled by Waffo Pancake (see Section 5).

2.2 Information collected automatically: device and browser type, IP address, pages visited, general usage events, and error logs. When you accept the map notice, map tile requests to Esri include tile coordinates for areas in your selected journey plus standard network data (IP address, user agent).

2.3 Timeline data: Your Timeline.json file, route coordinates, titles, and generated MP4 are processed locally in your browser. We do not upload your location history to our application servers.

3. How we use information

We use information to operate and improve the Service, process payments (via Waffo Pancake), provide support, prevent fraud, comply with law, and understand aggregate site traffic. We do not use your Timeline contents or generated videos for advertising profiling.

4. Cookies & tracking

We and our partners may use cookies and similar technologies. Strictly necessary cookies support core functionality. Analytics (e.g., Google Analytics measurement ID G-D537HYXP7Z, Cloudflare Web Analytics) help us measure aggregate traffic — not Timeline contents or coordinates. Ad partners (e.g., Adsterra) may use cookies to serve and measure ads. You can adjust browser settings to limit non-essential cookies.

5. Sharing & disclosure

We do not sell your personal information as defined by applicable privacy laws. We share information only with: service providers (hosting, analytics, payment processing); Waffo Pancake for checkout and card processing; Esri for map tiles when you consent; and when required by law. Payment card data is processed exclusively by Waffo Pancake and is not stored on our servers.

6. Data security

We use HTTPS for transport and follow reasonable security practices. No method is 100% secure. If a breach affects your rights, we will notify you and regulators as required by law (typically within 72 hours where applicable).

7. Retention

Timeline data and videos remain in your browser until you close or reload the page (unless stored locally by your browser). Payment records are retained by Waffo Pancake per their policies. Support emails are kept up to 2 years. Analytics data is retained per each provider’s schedule (typically 14–26 months).

8. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port personal data, and to object to certain processing. Email xevpass@gmail.com — we respond within 30 calendar days. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

9. Marketing

We do not send marketing emails unless you opt in. Checkout and payment receipts are sent by Waffo Pancake as Merchant of Record.

10. Cross-border transfers

Our hosting and service providers may process data in the United States, Singapore, the EU, or other regions. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

11. Minors

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us to request deletion if you believe a child provided information.

12. Third-party links & services

The Service links to third parties (Google Maps export instructions, GitHub, payment checkout). Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors and © Esri — see /third-party-notices.txt for full attribution.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date at least 15 days before they take effect where practicable.
