Your Timeline data

Timeline Visualizer processes your Google Maps Timeline export entirely in your web browser. Your Timeline.json file is never uploaded to our servers. We do not collect, store, or have access to your location history.

Map tiles

To render the journey animation, the app requests map tiles from CARTO (based on OpenStreetMap data). These requests include tile coordinates for the areas shown in your selected journey, along with standard network information such as your IP address. This may reveal geographic areas from your Timeline to CARTO.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic and page usage (measurement ID G-D537HYXP7Z). We may also use privacy-friendly analytics such as Cloudflare Web Analytics. These tools track page views and general usage only — they do not include Timeline contents, coordinates, file names, or generated media in analytics events.

No account required

Timeline Visualizer does not require sign-in, location permissions, or broad file system access beyond the file you choose to upload locally.
