How to Export Google Timeline on iPhone

← All export guides · Google Maps stores Timeline data on your device. Export it as Timeline.json, then upload it to Timeline Visualizer to create your travel video.

Steps

1. 1Open the Google Maps app on your iPhone.
2. 2Tap your profile picture in the top-right corner.
3. 3Tap Settings, then Personal content.
4. 4Tap Export Timeline data.
5. 5Save the file as Timeline.json in the Files app.
6. 6Return to Timeline Visualizer in Safari and upload the file.

Tips

• A full year of data can be 30–70 MB. Use Wi‑Fi if possible.
• Use Safari for best video encoding support (WebCodecs H.264).
• Add Timeline Visualizer to your Home Screen via Safari’s Share menu.
